Getting Started With Medicare before turning age 65
Step 1: Enroll in Medicare Parts A and B through your local Social Security Office.
Reach out to your local Social Security Office or alternatively, you can visit SSA.gov to enroll in both Medicare Part A and/or B. In order to purchase a Medicare plan, you must be in enrolled in both Medicare Parts A and B.
Step 2: Find the right plan for you. There are 4 parts to Medicare: A, B, C, and D.
Part A: Hospital coverage
Part B: Medical coverage
Part C: Medicare Advantage plan through a private insurance company
Part D: Prescription Drug plans (PDP)
